One Week!

Boy this week has flow by fast!

One week ago today Mitchell Lee Guca came into this world and changed our lives. We couldn't ask for anything more! He is so precious! We love him to pieces!

After a long induction process, pitocin, an epidural and having to wait almost an hour for the doctor to show up, Mitch was born Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 @ 7:58am, weighing 8lbs 3.6oz and measuring 20 inches long.

First still picture of Mitch... Krista was able to catch video of the actual birth, but I won't be broadcasting that on the web for just anyone to see. If you are interested and want to see the video, just let me know, I'll be happy to share it with you!

Mitch getting weighed. 8 pounds 3.6 ounces

Off to the warmer, where Daddy gets to diaper and dress Mitch in a shirt. A first for both Tom and Mitch.

A little assistance from Linda, our Labor and Delivery Nurse, she was great!

Look at that cone head! No wonder they put caps on them!

All dressed, ready to be swaddled and go see Mommy!
First Guca Family Picture! Pardon my state of half undress, we were in the middle of kangaroo time.
Aunt Krista was there through it all and was the first person besides his parents to hold him. She waited so long to meet him!
Grandma Sharon was the next visitor to stop by for a snuggle.
Cousin Ashley was the first of the cousins to hold Mitch. She was so proud!
Cousin Dustin was there for the visit as well!
Grandma Nancy came by for a visit. What a busy day full of visitors!
That night was Mitch's first bath... he's all nice and clean showing off his big muscles!
Look how big and strong!
Daddy getting in some snuggle time while waiting for our doctors to write our discharge orders.
Mom & Mitch anxiously awaiting our trip home!
Woo Hoo, we're on our way home! First car ride was a breeze. Mitch fell asleep almost right away.
Happy to be home with mom and dad!
Snoozing in the boppy while mom gets ready for the day.
Snuggling on mom in the sunshine because Mitch's billirubin level was pretty high the first couple of days.
First bath at home he loved his cute little hooded towel!
Mitch has had lots of visitors over the past week... we've tried to take pictures with everyone, but unfortunately a few slipped through the cracks!
Grandpa Tom
Grandma Myra
Aunt Annette
Uncle Jim
Annette and Jim came all the way from Florida when they heard Mitch was coming, what a special treat!
Grandpa Kelly
Aunt Jacki
Cousin Estefan, Aunt Nanette and Cousin Kayla
Grandpa Kelly, again, showing off one of Mitch's many facial expressions, too cute!

Cousin Alexis
Mitch got to meet his littlest cousin Aethelia. They are 3 months and 2 days apart in age.
Another picture of his cousin Aethelia, just cuz it's too cute not to share.

On Monday, we had Mitch circumcised. This is the board and supplies the doctor would use for the procedure. Tom and I chose to stay in the room, and it was a little stressful for both of us. Poor little guy seemed like he felt everything, despite the numbing agent the doctor injected. We came home and napped for a good part of the afternoon to try to ease some of the pain.

Later that night we decided to try out the swing while Mom and Dad had dinner. Mitch wasn't too sure about it at first, but after a little while he decided it was pretty comfy.

Can't pass up a photo op, with my two favorite guys! Aren't they too handsome?

This one is too funny not to include... Mitch has so many expressions, it's hard to capture all of them.

We love this little guy soo much it's hard to contain ourselves! We'll be sharing a lot more pictures soon, hope you don't mind!

Love,

The Guca Family

Tom, Shaunna and Mitch
