2007 Recap - Cruise to Alaska Disembarkation

Disembarkawhata?

That means get off the boat! On the last day of our trip we had to suck down soda's like you wouldn't believe. You see, my dad and I are diet soda drinkers. At the beginning of our cruise before the ship even set sail, we bought a souvenir soda mug and a punch card that was good for like 20 sodas. We figured we'd each get one and that we'd have no problem going through them. We thought we were doing pretty well pacing ourselves, but on the last day as we were getting ready to get off the boat around 8 am, we found ourselves with 2 sodas left on our punch cards each! So we chugged sodas poolside, the only place that we found that was serving sodas. What? Are you suggesting that we should have just left the boat without getting our full monies worth??? You are crazy! Who are you and why are you reading my blog? =)

After getting off the boat, we had a bunch of time to kill, so we caught a cab to the Seattle Space Needle and opened up the joint. Took in the view and then found the tram over to Pikes Place Market.
In this picture if you look in the water all the way over to the right in the top corner, you can actually see our cruise ship!

After Pikes Place Market, we somehow couldn't figure out the bus system and if it could get us back to the pier where our luggage was, so we figured we'd walk back. Ho.ly.Cow. we walked forever! Those cabby's drive fast because the 5-10 minute cab ride we had to Pikes Place, was not reflected in our walk back. I think we walked almost 4 miles. We grabbed our luggage and hoped on a shuttle back to the airport and lied to get through security due to a rude Airline Employee, and hung out in the airport for 5+ hours, just because we were ready to go home!Whew what a trip! But Good Times were had by all!

Okay so I gotta say it - It could have been ME!!! Just because I was afraid to take a sudden vacation from work I called Shaunna and "gave up" this once in a lifetime opportunity to bond with Dad. Oh well. I'm glad it worked out well!!!!
