Okay, so it's not really the end of the trip, we had one more stop. It was in Victoria, B.C. Canada, but the boat wasn't to dock until 7pm and it was leaving around midnight, so not much time to do anything, and we weren't all that interested in the excursions made available. So what did we do? We got off the boat, got our passports stamped bought post cards and got back on the boat! Boring, but totally fine with us! Since there aren't any picture of Victoria, I'll use this post to add some of the other things that happened on the boat.
I like this picture of my dad just chillin' on the deck of the boat, watching the mountains roll by. You see, my dad is not a relaxer, he's always hard at work doing something. It was nice to be able to enjoy as much time as we did together. We didn't spend a whole lot of time inside, we paid to see Alaska, and we were gonna see it!
These are pictures of our room. They were expecting a married couple to arrive per our reservations, so our beds were pushed together. They offered to separate them, but we didn't want to cause a bother. Our room steward was always super busy, I swear every time we left the room it was straightened up when we came back. The room was pretty small but efficient. We didn't spend much time in there, but if was comfortable.
Here we are at Dutch Night for dinner. Dutch Boys and Dutch Girls, aren't we cute.
Here are our table mates, Fred and Wilma Freestone, not Flinstone. No Joke! They were very nice. I think they may have been a little wary of us at first, but they warmed up to us hicks from Arizona real quick and we were practically inseparable towards the end of the trip.
Do you know what that it? It's Escargot! And we ate it! And that we includes me! Can you believe it? Shaunna, the no fish, no shell fish, no shrimp, no calamari or anything like it girl, ate escargot, and it was good!
Mmmmm... Escargot!
Notice the delicate pinkie action, we are high class you know!
This was our fancy table with a bunch of silverware we didn't know what to do with... Luckily our wait staff was able to see us coming and let us know what we should use, or they took away the unnecessary silver!
Baked Alaska on the Cruise to Alaska, that was fun! On a side note, somehow they were under the assumption that it was my (or my mom's) birthday one night and they sang to me and brought out a cake. Totally Random, but we ate it anyways!
Here is one of the ice sculptures from the second formal night, hence the appropriate attire. Almost every night we were greeted with a different sculpture, they are very talented.
So we wouldn't forget, they changed the rug in the elevators every day so that we'd know what day it was. Pretty Clever! We also had to change our clocks twice on the trip.
The last night was the Midnight Dessert Buffet. So we stayed up and waited for the grand feast that was awaiting. There were a lot of things to choose from, but I wasn't terribly impressed with any of it. I guess working at a high end bakery has made me a pastry and desert snob, oh well!
